Something for your doctor

A note when loud snoring fills much of the night.

How to record for a doctor

Three steps. One of them is sleeping.

  1. Put your phone by the bed

On the bedside table, within 1 metre of your head. Plug it in.

  2. Tap record and sleep

Screen off, phone locked. It keeps going all night.

  3. Wake up to your night

Your score, your graph and your loudest snores, ready when you are.

Then make it quieter

Try one change: sleep on your side, skip the wine, wear a nasal strip. Premium compares your nights with and without it, so you see if it worked.

Remedies: Snore Score 14 lower with no alcohol before bed, and 14 lower sleeping on your side

Watch it come down

Your Snore Score and snoring time, night after night. One bad night won't fool you: the trend shows if you're really getting quieter.

Trends are part of Premium.

Trends: Snore Score down 32 points over a week, with the nights without alcohol marked, and time spent snoring down 10 points

Questions

How many nights do I need?

One night shows you what happened. Three normal nights give you a fair picture, and a baseline to compare remedies against.

Where do I put my phone?

On the bedside table, within about 1 metre (3 feet) of your head, plugged in. Not on the bed.

Can it tell if I have sleep apnea?

No. snoreMIC is a wellness app, not a medical test. If you gasp or choke in your sleep, or you're very tired during the day, see a doctor. Your recordings can help that conversation.

Is it on iPhone?

Not yet. snoreMIC is for Android phones running Android 8 or later.
